Description:   Fragment from side of a shallow bowl.
Broken all around.
Decoration from top to bottom: 1) Bottom of a row of hooks; four grooves as border. 2) Zone with tree and curved garland. Border of cross hatching between two grooves. 3) Main zone: head and shoulders of bearded figure holding dagger and sword in upraised hands. Uncertain object in field to right. Gladiator (?)
Context:   Trench to stone Drain at S.E. corner of section. Containers 278-279.
Found with sherds of 3rd c. A.D.
