Title:   Amphora Fragment with Dipinto and Graffiti

Description:   Mouth, one handle and part of shoulder and wall remain. Plain amphora with bulging cylindrical neck and strap handles; projecting rounded lip. Body slightly wheel ridged.
On one side, between the handles, just below the vertical strokes, in black ink: <graphic>
Lightly incised on the shoulder on one side are 6 vertical strokes, on the other seven vertical strokes (six long, one short).
Coarse buff clay.
Notes:   Previously North Basement-Jar Fragments, Block X, late 3rd.-5th. c. A.D.
Context:   Well in cistern to west of Tholos.
