Description:   Fragment from rectangular plaque or from a plate with polygonal rim. One straight edge preserved, thickened and rounded on the top. Underside flat. In low relief, a nude female figure (head and left arm missing) swimming(?) right. In front of her, a large crab; behind her, an uncertain object. Details crudely rendered by gouging.
Fine red clay, rather thin red glaze, not covering the underside. Heavy fabric; rim pared. Late Roman A.
Context:   Road fill. Found with coins 25-28 for 28 January 1938.
