Fill was disturbed in later periods, probably by construction of pithoi. Deposit was found 4-5m east of Rocky Outcrop. Predominance of terracotta figurines is strong indication that this was fill from a sanctuary | |
Contents: | Coins: 19 May 1937 #1-#3 Terracotta figurines: 4 inventoried figurines; 49 pieces representing a minimum of 23 figurines, 4 other individuals with legs, 1 shield, 2 plaques, 1 driver, 3 horses (minimum 34 individual figurines). Early ware: Gray Minyan; Mycenaean; Protogeometric fehlbrant; ray-based kotyle, Corinthianizing; Protogeometric- Late Geometric; Protoattic. Archaic fine ware: Black figure; black glazed miniature skyphos; aryballos; lekanis lid; banded olpe; skyphos, Corinthian type. Coarse ware: Plain and banded. Intrusions: Red-ware; late Roman; Late Roman lamps; coarse ware, combed ware; micaceous water jugs; yellow/white glaze; lidded bowl; shallow coarse ware dish. | |
