Title:   Sarcophagus Fragment
Category:   Architecture Marble
Description:   About half of length and wall to full height preserved on one side.
Rectangular sarcophagus with plain projecting base, straight side wall with small and large half round moldings (archaic) at the top, plain flat rim above. Corners strengthened inside with quarter rounds. No trace of painting preserved.
On bottom, 0.05m. in from each corner, a rectangular cutting to receive feet of sarcophagus. A rectangular hole cut through the center of the floor, of which only parts of two sides are preserved along the line of break.
Island marble.
Conservation Status:   Finished
Context:   Built into east wall of Great Drain.
