Title:   Well Curb

Description:   Mended from many pieces; small parts of rim and sides restored in plaster.
Broad rim sloping slightly down; the outer face beveled, the underside forming a continuos curve with a light collar around the top of the drum. The drum bulges slightly below this collar, and widens toward the bottom that is finished with a light collar similar to that above. One lifting-hole, preserved, shows no signs of wear. Rope marks around the inner edge of the rim.
Grayish buff clay; buff surfacing, in part stained black (as if from burning?).
Context:   Well by Attalos Pier VIII.
