Title:   Column Drum Fragment: Doric

Description:   Small fragment from face of drum preserving parts of three flutings; broken on all other sides. The arris brought to an edge as sharp as the material permitted. Surface finished with toothed chisel. Surface at one point darkened probably by fire.
Coarse grained limestone containing large fossilized shells.
Square Peristyle.
ADDENDA Initially attributed to the South Stoa due to place of finding, scale, order, material and quality of workmanship.
Context:   Found near S.E. corner of Commercial Agora in front of South Stoa imbedded in 3rd century A.D. floor of Square (15.00m. from East Stoa, 5.00m. from South Stoa). Brought in 12 August 1952.
