Title:   Step Block with Mason's Mark
Category:   Architecture Marble
Description:   Bottom step block (euthynteria). All surfaces preserved, with anathyrosis on both ends.
Front surface: worked with toothed chisel for 0.14m. from top, save for a drafted edge. The remaining surface below projects 0.012m. from this finished face, and is rough-picked.
Top surface: worked with toothed chisel. Clamps on both ends, reused. A dowel hole in the middle of the block, a pry hole to go with it along the back edge and a second pry hole in the back right hand corner. The step-worn end bears a setting line 0.155m. from front.
Mason's marks in the middle of the block: Δ Δ Ψ.
Back surface unfinished.
Assigned to the Temple of Ares.
Pentelic marble.
