Title:   Iconostasis Lintel Fragments
Category:   Architecture Marble
Description:   a) Elaborate braid design carved on a face that forms an obtuse angle with the soffit.
Additional fragments found October 1954, and numbered ΗΑ 60. Carved on one side with an elongated palmette pattern; on the adjacent face with interlocking squares enclosing rosettes. A joining fragment was plastered to the piece from the N.W. pier, and a small piece found nearby joins this. All joined before rebuilding into Church.
From the Church of the Holy Apostles.
Byzantine.
Pentelic marble.
Context:   a) (ΗΑ 45) Sanctuary, central part, between floors of Church of Holy Apostles. (ΗΑ 60) Many additional joining fragments found October 1954; one piece built into N.W. pier, in upper part; others from debris inside church; two from marble pile.
