Title:   Cornice Block: Ionic

Description:   All of back and upper moldings with soffit on front broken away. One end, somewhat crudely tooled, preserved. Mended from two pieces. From bottom up: row of dentils on inclined fillet, and a cyma reversa. Everything higher missing. On rough-picked top, a swallow tail clamp at the finished end, with a second similar clamp (with iron) along break at front, indicating a repair along the line of the present break. Crude anathyrosis on end.

Pentelic marble.
Context:   Found reused as cover slabs over late drain in N.-S. street, and built into manhole.
