Deep ovoid jug on raised base left rough beneath. Shoulder joins neck in continuous concave curve, neck narrowing towards top and finished with narrow trefoil rim. Thick strap handle, rising from rim. A deep groove sets the rim off from the neck and a light groove marks the transition from neck to shoulder. Russet-red micaceous clay, thick fabric, wheelmade, unglazed. Possibly Thasian.
