Handles and much of body restored.

Round body, with both convex and concave faces wheelmade. Thin neck.

Broadly outturned rim, angular profile below rim on exterior. Handles attached well below mouth. Stamped in center of concave side, within rectangle, with bottom towards mouth of canteen: [Δ⟧ω̣ροθέου. Light red fabric (2.5YR 6/6); metallic black glaze.

Similar: P 31743 (Agora XXVII, no. 227, p. 198, ill. 42, pl. 51 [Q 8--9]). Same stamp: 1209. Same name, different stamp: 1210.

For shape cf. Δελτ 22, 1967, B1 1 [1968], p. 59, pl. 76:γ, from Athens. A closely similar stamp appears on Rhodian amphora handles, identifying a fabricant: cf.
