Top of knob missing; several areas of flange and rimrestored.

Lower wall slightly inclined and concave, with scraped groove at top and bottom. Slightly upturned flange with grooved edge. Domed top with groove and ridge around base of pear-shaped knob. Knob flares out at top, with smaller finial above flare now missing. Trace of bead and reel between scraped grooves on vertical wall. Soft, fine, pink to reddish yellow fabric (7.5YR 8/4--7/6) with little mica; dull glaze, mottled reddish brown to red, mostly missing, with inside partly unglazed; miltos.

A similar lid is displayed in the Ioannina Museum; somewhat similar is La Rosa 1990, p. 161, pl. 82:a, second from right, from Phaistos.
