Amphora: Northern Greece?

Part of body, one handle and upper part of the other restored. Foot chipped, piece of rim missing.

Flaring ring foot with groove near bottom; flat resting surface, reserved; slightly pointed underside. Baggy body with greatest diameter very low. Convex lower body meets concave upper body at slight angle. Two scraped grooves define upper body area. Sloping shoulder at angle to body, with scraped groove at top and bottom.

Short neck. Cup mouth with angular exterior profile and flaring rim. Two twisted rope handles from shoulder to below rim. Soft, fine, slightly micaceous, reddish yellow fabric (7.5YR 7/6); dull brown glaze with dark red patches.
