Fish-plate: Corinthian?

Chips missing.

Broad ring foot, convex to outside; beveled resting surface, reserved; convex underside. Concave floor. Broad scraped groove around shallow depression and around edge of floor. Fairly narrow rim sloping to outside. Micaceous, reddish yellow fabric (7.5YR 7/6), mottled orange in places; dull to shiny black glaze, brown stacking circle.

Another with similar fabric comes from E 14:1, lower fill: P 5838.

For Corinthian fish-plates see Corinth VII, iii, nos. 131--133, pp. 40--41, pls. 5, 46, none of which provides an exact parallel for our piece. The deep profile suggests a date later than the first half of the 3rd century, and the piece may belong with the later material in the deposit.
