P 2956 a, b

Two nonjoining fragments preserving part of foot and wall (a) and part of wall (b).

Ring foot with groove in face; grooved resting surface. Slightly convex wall with groove. Two grooves with scraped edges around center of floor. Center: star or rosette with alternating rounded petals and straight rays; petals are white overpainted with orange. This is surrounded by band of pseudo bead and reel between scraped grooves, the horizontal elements white. Outer band: pairs of antithetical leaping dolphins with double dorsal fins, spaced by white dot rosettes, over spiral wave pattern filled in with white and resting on two lines with row of dots between. Leaves spring from wave pattern, alternating with dot rosettes. Metallic black glaze.

Dolphins very similar to those on 367 and 416, by same hand.
