All of knob, part of lid and downturned rim. Glazed on underside. Most of the glaze on the top side misfired red except for contours of figures. H. with knob 0.075; est. diam. 0.205.

From the center out: egg pattern with dots; Eros, youth, and women. At the left Eros (ends of wings missing) carrying a sash flies to right toward a woman (face, part of chest missing) dressed in a peplos, who moves to right looking back, holding a large chest and sash in her outstretched left hand. Then comes a youth (feet missing), nude but for a cloak over his shoulder, who sits to left (on what is unclear), looking back at a woman (face, right arm, side of torso) who comes up (in the illustration, her face is overlapped by the knob). She wears a peplos. On side of rim, egg pattern. On top side of knob, egg pattern with dots. Preliminary sketch. White: Eros.

Near the Painter of Salonica 34.1 (ARV2 1501).
