Fragment of lower wall with start of cul. Clay a bit gray (burned[?]). Max. dim. 0.063.
On wall, laurel wreath to right with fruit. On cul, tongue pattern.
At the very top there is a little bit of reserve indicating the start of a pattern, but it is not clear which one. The black glaze to the right indicates the handle area. White: laurel wreath.
The Saint-Valentin Vases. For this class, see ARV2 984--985; Paralip. 437; Addenda 311. 1234 is probably from Howard and Johnson's Group VI (AJA 58, 1954 [ pp. 191--207], p. 194), but without more of the pattern, it is difficult to be absolutely certain.
