Three non-joining fragments, a of floor with start of stem on underside, strengthened with plaster, b of rim, c of bowl. Top of rim reserved. Max. dim. a) 0.171, b) 0.037, c) 0.044; diam. of tondo 0.105. P. E. Corbett, Hesperia 18, 1949, p. 314, cat. no. 12, pl. 82.

I (illustrated), athlete and woman, perhaps a wingless Nike. Fragment a shows the legs of the athlete, most of his left arm, and his lowered right hand holding a leafy twig. He stands frontally, his right elbow resting on a pillar, his head probably turned to right, facing the woman who stands opposite. She is preserved except for her right hand and lower legs and is dressed in a belted peplos with a decorated yoke. She also wears a headband and earring. Her right arm is outstretched, and the hand probably rested on the left shoulder of the youth. In her left hand she holds a fillet. Start of reserved exergue below pillar. Around the tondo is a stopped-maeander pattern with checkerboard-squares. A, woman (lower part of chiton, feet) standing frontally to the left of an altar or a pillar (a bit of its lower left corner is preserved at the right break). To the left of her is a sash, either held by her in her outstretched right hand or hanging on the wall, probably the former. At the far left, part of the palmette-and-tendril configuration at the handle. B, nude man or youth (lower torso, most of legs) leaning to right, his right foot resting on a high stone. Behind him, most of the palmette configuration at the handle. Fragments b and c preserve more of the handle configuration. Below, reserved line. Relief contour. Dilute glaze: decoration on sash; muscles of man in I and on B. White (flaked): fillet; twig.

Corbett (Hesperia 18, 1949, p. 314, cat. no. 12) suggested that the woman is a wingless Nike, because she holds a fillet and appears to be off the ground.
