Floor fragment (three joined with plaster) with part of stem and base fillet. Glaze fired red. P.H. a) 0.025; rest. max. dim. 0.091. E. Vanderpool, Hesperia 15, 1946, p. 280, cat. no. 37, pl. 29.

I, youth. The fragment preserves most of him except for the top of his head, his right hand, all of his right foot. He leans toward an object that looks like a pillow lying on a bed(part of each). At the far left, there is a thin, slightly curved object that may be a kottabos stand. In the lower right:

Reserved line for the tondo border and a trace of something, probably the toes of his right foot (the positioning of the fragment during mending may not be quite accurate). Preliminary sketch. Relief contour. Red: inscription.

For kottabos and kottabos stands, see 1572. The kottabos stand on 1581 is greatly simplified, lacking the plastinx, the small disk on top, and the manes, a larger disk near the center.
