Wall fragment. Max. dim. 0.156. Matheson, Polygnotos, p. 454, cat. no. PGU 41.

Maenad (lower part of drapery) to right, holding an oinochoe in her right hand. In front of her is Dionysos (lower part of himation and chiton) also to right but probably looking back, holding his kantharos in his right hand, spilling its contents on the ground. Preliminary sketch. White: wine spilling from kantharos.

The Group of Polygnotos: Undetermined (ARV2 1053, 34).

The figure of Dionysos probably looked somewhat like the figure of him on Stanford 17411 from this group (Paralip. 445, 38 bis; Matheson, p. 455, cat. no. PGU 47).
