| Description: | Mycenaean two-handled bowl. Glaze band on each handle. Exterior plain. Interior three sets of concentric rings with reserved bands in center, at the top, the center and the foot. Buff clay. ADDENDA 2018: Two small rim fragments added from Lot 487, Layers I and II (depth 9.30-10m) = Frags. b and c. Nine sherds mended into a complete profile to a shallow angular bowl with a flaring rim, two horizontal, strap handles and a high ring base. The exterior decoration consists of a narrow lip band. The top of the handle is painted and on one there is a swatch of paint on the exterior of the handle as well. The interior has a narrow lip band with a second narrow band running below it. There are two medium bands just below the carination and on medium band at the bottom of the bowl with a fine line spiral on its interior. The paint is thick, but unevenly applied and fired red to dark brown. There are no traces of use-wear or burning. Furumark Shape: 295 | |
