Title:   Deep Bowl Fragment: Patterned

Description:   Rim of skyphos. Brown on buff.
ADDENDA 2018: Seven sherds mended into two non-joining sections to a small deep bowl with flaring rim and part of a single horizontal, round-section handle. The exterior decoration consists of stemmed bowl banding and a medium band running below the handle zone. In the handle zone there are three wavy lines. The handle is tri-splashed.
The interior has a medium band at the lip, but is otherwise undecorated. The paint is thick, but unevenly applied, resulting in a fired colour from pale to dark brown. There are no traces of use-wear or burning.
ADDENDA 2020: Ten sherds (1 fresh break) mended into one large fragment and five non-joining sherds to a small deep bowl with flaring rim two, horizontal round handles, a conical lower bowl, and a short stem with domed foot. The exterior decoration consists of stemmed bowl banding at the rim, a medium band below the handle zone, two medium bands at the junction of the bowl and stem, and two narrow bands on the foot. In the handle zone there are three wavy lines. The handles are tri-splashed. The interior has a medium band at the lip and at the bottom of the bowl. The paint is thick, but unevenly applied, resulting in a fired colour from pale to dark brown. There are no traces of use-wear or burning.
Very fine soft buff fabric with occasional small to medium orange or reddish-brown subangular rock fragments, irregular voids, and silver mica.
