Title:   Prytany Decree Fragment

Description:   Lower part of inscribed stele; with base.
The stele is broken away at the top. It is leaded into a heavy rectangular base, of limestone, whose bottom is a plance which slopes upward toward the spectator's right.
The base is roughly dressed on all its faces; the stele is dressed with a toothed chisel on the sides; rough picked behind. Much lead is visible at the joint.
Seventeen lines of the inscription preserved.
Hymettian marble.
Conservation Status:   Finished
Context:   Found at a late Roman level, on east side of the Great Drain, opposite the southeast corner of the Metroon.
