Description:   Block inscribed with mason's mark.
Part of top and of front preserved; right end re-cut; other faces broken.
Along front, 0.33m. preserved of dressed exposed face; then an anathyrosis (?) band 0.13m. wide, and 0.08m. of picked surface, to the recut edge; a block to tie in with another wall.
Mason's marks on the top: "Β, Δ".
Stain as if from color, on the anathyrosis surface
Careful work; probably belonging with the temple of Ares series.
Pentelic marble.

Context:   Found in late Roman Road Fill, between the Stoa of Attalos and the Gymnasium north porch; with coins nos. 5-18 for the day.
