Title: | Marble Fragment
Category: | Inscriptions
Description: | Inscribed fragment. Top, bottom and right edge are original. In later times the block had been turned upside and its sides finished with anathyrosis so that it might serve as a floor slab; the new top surface is much worn from traffic. The cutting of the anathyrosis has probably destroyed an upper line of lettering. Part of one line of the inscription preserved. Coarse-grained (island?) marble.
Context: | Found in square well south of the Middle Stoa Pier 21 from west, from tumbled curbing of Byzantine well.
