Description:   Two fragments from an inscription.
Honorary monument to council of Areopagus.
Fragment Ι 414 a), broken all round; on the inscribed face diagonal chisel strokes are visible. Above is a projecting moulding, cavetto with a flat fascia at the top.
Parts of two lettersremain.
Fragment Ι 414 b) rough picked bottom, worn in a reuse, preserved; same dressing as fragment a). Two letters and parts of two others preserved.
No join, but the two fragments certainly from the same stone, which had at least two lines.
Pentelic marble.

Context:   Found in late context above the foundation of the south gate Tower of the late Roman Fortification.
