Title:   Turkish Pipe Fragment

Description:   Mended from two joining fragments. Rim broken away.
It has bowl condensed into a disk, from which rises a flaring cup-like rim (now mostly missing). Flat, squared foot.
Band of impressed linear decoration around lower part of rim. Impressed rouletted band around plain flaring stem socket.
Pinkish brown clay, black slip, burnished.
Notes:   Catalogued November 1979.
Context:   Layers I-III merged-modern. From pottery storage. Stem socket joining bowl was found in pottery container T 6 (1936, surface and disturbed areas).
