Title:   White Ground Lekythos

Description:   Cracked open; repaired; one or two chips missing at edge of breaks. In center, grave monument. From the left a woman brings an alabastron. On the right a woman(?) with mantle drawn close around her, looks left. Shoulder also white ground with open palmette pattern, bordered above by tongue pattern; just below shoulder, maeander. Drawn in a pinkish-gray matte line, the same color used for the hair. Light bright red for fillets on tymbos and stele and for cloak of figure to right. Dark red for cloak of figure to left, and pink lines for folds of her chiton. Matte black for one of the fillets on the tymbos, for the folds of the cloak, and for strings hanging from the fillets. Gray of maeander and shoulder pattern not pinkish. Above and below maeander, and below picture, yellow glaze stripe.
