Title:   Pyxis or Stamnos Fragment

Description:   From a very large pyxis or stamnos, with broad flanged inner rim. Zigzag around top of body; below, metopes filled with eight-pointed lozenges with checkerboard pattern and crosshatching. Between the metopes, vertical lines and panel of crosshatching. Glaze band on flange.
Pink clay; buff surface; dull red glaze.
Context:   Cistern.
