Title:   Panathenaic Amphora Fragment

Description:   Part of neck, broken off at shoulder and below lip. Start of handles, springing from a projecting ridge, preserved at top. Palmettes above ridge, below, front and back, alternating broad and narrow vertical stripes. Over these, on A, the head of Athena, in high crested helmet, right; one hand raised, holding a spear. Flesh white, with brownish details. Incision on helmet.
Pinkish buff clay, brownish black to red glaze.
Context:   Cistern.
