Description: | Foot and much of lower walls missing. The curving lower part meets the nearly vertical (insloping, slightly concave) sides at an obtuse angle marked by a broad scraped groove. Ivy-leaf thumb-rests on the flat band handles. On each side, a garland, done in clay-colored paint: pendent buds on the better preserved side, on the other hanging fillets alternate with irregular motifs (leaf, dolphin?). Inscription: <graphic> Good thin metallic black glaze, worn on lip and handles. | |
