Description: | Mended from two pieces; about half the base and bottom of the plate preserved, but only a small bit of the rim. The outside preserves the profile of a shallow bowl with slightly incurving rim; on the inside however the rim is sharply set off from the flat bottom. Two shallow grooves around the center. Fine clay. Good firm glaze overall. Pergamene Ware. For the profile, cf. P 1054. Fragments of similar plates may be found in the boxes from this cistern. | |
