Title:   Kantharos: West Slope

Description:   The bottom is missing, one handle, and part of the wall. Restored in plaster. Similar in shape and decoration to P 11235 (ΠΘ 3217) but larger; no incised groove around the body. Woman's head thumb-rests on handles. On either side necklace with pendents in terracotta paint; interlaced drops, and small sprays and ribbons.
Painted inscription above necklace on one side: Φ Ι [Λ Ι Α] Σ
Glaze black to red.
ADDENDA P 11235: Convex lower body; upper wall slightly concave; plain rim. Moulded ring foot with an incised groove; another at junction of upper and lower body, and around foot. Ivy leaf thumb-rests on the band handles.
