Title:   Black Glaze Olpe

Description:   Intact except for about one-half of foot and chips. High echinus foot, slender body, thickened projecting lip; handle round in section, lip to shoulder; two small projections on the lip, at its upper attachment.
Black glazed outside, save for six broad reserved bands around body. Underside reserved, inside glazed to bottom of neck; glaze considerably worn on lip and handle.
ADDENDA n.b. In many of the archaic graves from the Kerameikos there are ordinary lekythoi with just such reserved bands. Seen Sept. 1958/LT
