Title:   Black Figure Oinochoe

Description:   Mended from many pieces. Considerable scattered portions missing; restored in plaster. Combat scene of armed men between spectators. The combatants wear helmets, tunics and greaves and carry shields (one seen in perspective?). The weapons in their raised hands are lost in the breaks. On either side, a youth in a mantle. The panel is bordered above by a very sloppy ivy pattern; on either side and below is a line of glaze. Hasty incision for interior details. Accessory white in blobs on the full-face shield, red on the other shield and on the lower parts of the tunics and a few other places. Careless execution. Broad ring foot, reserved underneath. Trefoil lip with large pouring section; glazed inside.
Glaze very unevenly fired: mottled and red and cloudy.
