Agora Object: P 1324
Inventory Number:   P 1324
Section Number:   Α 381
Title:   Black Figure Psykter
Category:   Pottery
Description:   In many fragments. Five joins which combine two pieces of body, two pieces of neck and four pieces which together give the profile of rim, shoulder and lugs. Eleven non-joining pieces of which two are pairs of lugs (see P 1324 bis), three show parts of the tongue pattern and the rest are glazed outside and (more thinly) inside. The rim, fitted for a lid, is upright with a projecting band on the outside part way down. It is glazed inside and out. At its base is a narrow relief band with a narrow red band just above it. Below, top of shoulder, tongue pattern bordered on either side by a pair of red lines. The lugs in situ (on the shoulders a little further down) are covered with glaze on the outside. The inside of the pot is reserved in a zone below the neck but roughly glazed from somewhat above the lugs down, so far as our pieces show. Three pieces indicate the body profile had a distinct (not very sharp) angle somewhere near the middle.
The two spare pairs of lugs belong to another pot, now P 1324 bis.
