Title:   Black Figure Amphora Fragment

Description:   Lip, neck and shoulder preserved; the shoulder fragmentary. Small bauch-amphora with heavy collared lip, slightly flaring; handles round in section, from lower part of neck to shoulder. Panel front and back; each bordered by a single purple line at top and sides. In each, a horse protome, right. Purple for horses' manes, eyes and nostrils; well preserved on A, worn on B. Two purple bands around neck and two around lip outside. Broader band just below lip inside. Behind the head on A, a curious filling ornament (letters?).
Black glaze, somewhat worn.
