Description: | Two non-joining fragments preserve profile from edge to close to center, where it rises sharply toward knob; restored in plaster. On underside two widely separated concentric rows of widely spaced "teeth" project downward, set in a stagered arrangement; teeth are at least 0.045m. long. Coarse pinkish-buff clay; top covered with black glaze, hard but thinned. Non-joining fragment of a band handle may belong to this lid (W. 0.047). | |
