Title:   Black Figure Amphora Fragment

Description:   From the wall of a large closed pot. Preserved is most of lower half of a round shield, with a bit of drapery at right. Incision for outlines of rim of shield and a lozenge pattern on dress. Added white for star rosette on shield, and dots on border of lozenge panel. A small hole bored after firing is partly preserved at one edge (rivet hole?).
Pinkish-buff clay; black glaze fired to reddish.
Context:   Well 6, lower fill.
