Description:   From the wall of a large open vessel. The careful rectangular shape and the wear on the edges show that the fragment has been deliberately cut down and used, perhaps as a burnisher.
Gritty brownish-buff clay, gray at core; outside and inside a lustrous red which may be a real glaze rather than a technical slip.
ADDENDA Well preserved burnished slip (SAI).
