Title:   Black Figure Oinochoe Fragment

Description:   Six fragments preserve part of the figured zone depicting most of the lower part of a maenad and the back of the head, shoulders and beard of Dionysos. He holds a drinking horn in his outstretched left hand, but looks back over his shoulder towards the maenad who dances away from him. Incision for interior details; both red and white dots on the girl's dress; white also for her flesh, for a stripe on Dionysos' himation and for some of the fruit on the vine filling ornament. Red for his beard, for the fruit(?) immediately behind his head and for two narrow stripes round the bottom of the panel.
Not glazed inside. The head of Dionysos comes just above the curve of the shoulder.
