Title:   Black Glaze Plate Fragment

Description:   A single fragment preserves part of floor, foot and rim of a large heavy plate; edge of rim not preserved. Low base ring; flat floor inset slightly from rim. On inside of rim, a band of black glaze leaves and berries separated from floor by black bands and scraped grooves. Outside glazed; resting surface and scraped grooves at top of foot reserved. On the wall, two pairs of scraped grooves with a slightly raised flat band between each pair. A third band with grooves on underside of floor.
Good glaze.
