Title:   Black Figure Skyphos

Description:   Mended from many pieces; parts of wall, rim and one handle missing; restored in plaster. Deep skyphos with rounded walls, drawn in slightly at lip. Broad flaring foot; moulded rim at junction of foot and wall. Handles rising slightly above rim. Reserved line at edge of lip inside; inner faces of handles reserved. Scraped groove either side of moulded ring. Space inside foot reserved and decorated with glaze circles around dot; two broad bands; five narrow. In handle zone, A and B, two chariots right; goal post (?) next to handle at right. Tendrils in field, sketchy incision for details.
Good black glaze.
Context:   Section and provenience uncertain; found in mending room, summer 1933, probably from Section A, Rectangular Rock Cut Shaft.
