Title:   Eschara Fragment

Description:   About half the rim and part of the floor preserved with one handle and the start of the stand. Shallow bowl with broad nearly flat rim; perforated stand; stubby rolled horizontal handle set just below the rim. On the top surface of the rim, midway between the handles, a low projection, the same width as the rim, upcurved at the ends, to take a spit(?).
Micaceous red clay, somewhat blackened from use.
Context:   Pit with burning, ca. 500-470 B.C.
