Title:   Red Figure Skyphos Fragment

Description:   Wall fragment (a) from a sizable skyphos. At left, part of a draped figure; at right, part of the palmette decoration from beneath the handle.
Black glaze somewhat grayed; no relief contour.
ADDENDA A fragment added from sherds joins at left and gives part of the rim and the upper front part of the figure. A youth with his himation wrapped around his left arm, leaving the upper body free; a staff in his outstretched right hand. Mouth painted in brown; brown also for locks and for musculature. The chest outlines are continued so as to give a little relief contour on the upper body.
Notes:   0.38m. to bottom.
Context:   Pit in area of small early house walls, to west of narrow passage.
