Title:   Black Glaze Bowl Fragment with Relief Medallion

Description:   Central relief medallion of a bowl depicting the head of Dionysos. The underside ridged; similar to P 1498, but with a scratched groove around the inner ring. Dionysos, facing, wears a fillet over wreath on his flowing locks.
Purplish-black glaze inside and out.
Cf. P 1942 (on pitcher) small version of same thing.
