Title:   Loutrophoros Fragment

Description:   A single large fragment broken all around preserves part of the wall of a large closed vase, unglazed inside. At top: trace of handle attachments with the end of a band of egg pattern at the line of the attachment. Parts of two draped figures are preserved: at left, a seated figure, right, holding a loutrophoros, knee and upper part of loutrophoros only preserved. Branches done in added clay project from the loutrophoros. At right, a woman standing, facing the seated figure, her right hand partly raised. Added clay for her bracelet and diadem; dull glaze; no relief contour.

Context:   Underground drain at west end of section, top fill. West branch.
