Title:   Black Figure Skyphos Fragments

Description:   Two fragments, a) mended from seven, b) mended from two, preserve part of the wall of a large skyphos. A third fragment, c) gives part of the rim with ivy band. Seven other fragments, including most of a handle, possibly belonging, are also preserved. Excellent glaze inside; reserved line at lip inside.
a) A large tree with red and white fruits; at its base, an animal, grazing right (head missing); at right, trace of handle attachment; at left, part of some large object.
b) Part of a nude reclining figure, right, with a white baldrick(?); tendril in field; uncertain object at left.
Considerable incision; added color: a) fruits; red for the animal's mane; white for spots on his body and for a belly-stripe; b) white for the dotted strap.
Added from sherds, to a): part of rim and head and shoulders of fluting satyr, left, under tree. Also ten non-joining pieces, including the second handle, a scrap of the base and bits of wall depicting a bent arm, tendrils, clusters, drapery, etc.
