Title:   Red Figure Oinochoe Fragment
ΤΙΤΛΟΣ:   Τμήμα οινοχόης με παράσταση Αθηνάς (;) σε άρμα 410 π.Χ. περίπου
Category:   Pottery
Description:   Fragment from upper wall and shoulder, mended from many pieces and filled out with plaster. Two mastoi preserved on the shoulder curve, these reserved and once covered with white. Also reserved, so far as it remains, the vertical face of the moulded rib at junction of neck and shoulder. Tongue pattern on shoulder.
Figured scene (the upper left corner remains): A youth with curly light brown hair, petasos and bordered chlamys, stands right facing a quadriga (heads of four horses); his right hand is on the top of the head of the foremost horse, his left below its muzzle. At the extreme right of the scene is preserved the end of a flying helmet plume and a bit of drapery, presumably belonging to the charioteer.
Little if any relief contour. The reins and a few bits of harness ornament were white; white also for the outline of the boy's hat.
For shape, cf. P 15840 and P 15841.
